Zishan Hussain

Zishan Hussain is the labour law lawyer (arbeidsrechtjurist) reviewing employment law content and contracts for ICS Payroll. He drafts and reviews Dutch employment contracts, checks probation, non-compete and fixed-term clauses against the WAB, and advises on the ketenregeling, sick-leave obligations under the Wet verbetering poortwachter, and transition payments.

He holds an LL.B in Dutch law from Hogeschool Leiden (2016) and completed the private law pre-master programme (schakeltraject Privaatrecht) at the Open Universiteit between 2017 and 2019. He published on pre-contractual reliance in Dutch contract law (Het totstandkomingsvertrouwen in de precontractuele fase, 2020).

Since 2016 he has run his own Rotterdam legal practice, Ember law firm, advising entrepreneurs and employers in commercial and employment disputes, including cross-border claims brought by foreign companies against Dutch counterparties. He previously worked as a legal adviser at the municipality of Rotterdam and as a partner in a Rotterdam legal practice serving employers on M&A and employment matters.
